Chin-Chen Chang, He Yiwu Chair Professor at Feng Chia University, has been formally elected as a 2026 Member of the European Academy of Engineering (EAE) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to information security, cryptography, and artificial intelligence. Widely regarded as a pioneer of cybersecurity and cryptography in Taiwan, Professor Chang continues to make remarkable contributions to science and technology. In recent years, he has received a series of top international academic honors. In 2022, he was elected as a Member of Academia Europaea (AE) and a Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA). In 2025, he was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) in the United States. In 2026, he was further recognized as a Fellow of the International Academy of Artificial Intelligence Sciences (AAIS) and now as a Member of the European Academy of Engineering. Receiving recognition once again from one of Europe’s highest-level academic institutions only four years later highlights his far-reaching impact across multiple scientific disciplines.

Professor Chang’s research spans cryptography, information security, multimedia image processing, and artificial intelligence. His scholarly contributions have been both prolific and influential. According to Google Scholar, his publications have been cited more than 50,000 times, with an h-index of 105. He was also ranked 189th worldwide in career impact in the fields of artificial intelligence and image processing in Stanford University’s “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list. At a time when digital transformation and AI technologies are advancing rapidly, his research has provided a solid theoretical and technological foundation for global information security.
